Shockwave Chapter Five

Adrian was on fire as a superhero. Day after day he saved the day(Ha). 

That day during gym Adrian saw his crush. Her name was Ruby Rine. She had in Adrian’s opinion the most beautiful Ruby red eyes with brunette hair. That day Adrian decided to swallow his fear and go talk to her.

He slowly walked up to her in the stands while she talked to her friends. He took a deep breath and spoke, “Hey Ruby. Do you remember Adrian?” All of Ruby’s friends turned to look at him. Their eyes glared at him. “Oh yeah, hey Adrian. Been awhile huh. What do you need?” Ruby replied kindly. Thank goodness for Ruby’s kindness. “Um.. Uh …I…Uhh..Huuuh, I was wondering if you, if you, if you, wanted to go on a date with me!” Adrian couldn’t breathe for moments. Seconds past like days while he waited for her reply. “Sure. Let’s meet at Sonic at 7:00 PM tonight,” Adrian walked away as a bundle of joy. He couldn’t stop smiling. He walked over to Garret who was struggling to get on the gym rope. “What’s with the smile Grinch?” Garret asks through grunts. “Ruby is going on a date today. With me!” Adrian replied happily. “Congratulations!” Garret said, hitting the floor falling off the rope. 

That night Adrian put on one of his best shirts, gave himself some cologne(A little more than normal), and did his hair.  Then he had his mom drive him to Sonic. Adrian had a wad of cash with him to get Ruby anything she wanted. When Ruby got out of her car she looked really nice. Her brunette hair was in beautiful curls and she wore a nice red dress that went with her eyes. “Hey Adrian, sorry I’m late,” Ruby said. “That’s okay,” Adrian said as if he were in a trance. “So did you already order?” “No, I was waiting for you. I ‘ll pay by the way,” Adrian replied. “K,” So they ordered and they talked. Turns out they had a lot in common.  They both hated that they had to wake up early for school(But who doesn’t). They both love the color Aqua Blue. They both love to go to Sonic. Things were going really well for Adrian’s first date. 

 “So then Kamilia walks up to me and is like “What do you think you’re doing?” and I was like, “I’m wuppin your butt that’s what!”” Ruby said. Adrian and her both laughed ferociously. “That was really funny,” Adrian said. “Hey Adrian, emergency! There is another shooting, but this time it is on the roof of a 100 story building!”Garret yelled through the intercom. “I will be right back Ruby, just got to take care of something,” Adrian quickly said. “Oh, okay,” Ruby said. Adrian walked over to the bathroom and said, “Garret I can’t take care of it. I’m on a date. Just let the police handle it,” “Oh yeah, we’ll let the police handle it. Oh wait did I forget to mention the police captain is being held captive!” “AHHH. Fine,” Adrian said angrily. He walked out of the bathroom and went over to Ruby who was enjoying her shake and fries. “Can we call it a night? I’m sorry there is something I really have to take care of,” Adrian said. “Uh, yeah sure I guess I will see you at school,” Ruby replied. “Okay bye,” Adrian then started to walk away from Ruby and once she was out of sight he put on his glasses, pushed the button, and started to run to the building address.  He jumped into the air while his suit was finishing covering his face and then landed on the ground coming up slowly. (Adrian at this moment was trying to look really cool, but instead a dog came and peed on him) “Thanks bud, really needed that,” Adrian said annoyed. 

Once Adrian got to the building he realized he didn’t know how he was going to get up the building to the roof!

“Um, Garret, how do I get up there?” “You run up the side of course,” Garret said this once again like it was not some near impossible feat. Adrian tried to hype himself up. He would have to run faster than he ever had. 

Adrian ran and he ran and he went up the building with lightning speed! At least that is what Adrian wished. Adrian was actually in the elevator listening to the elevator slowly going up to the top floor.

Ding the elevator doors opened and Adrian hopped out onto the roof yelling, “No Fear Shockwave is here!” Then Adrian realized that it was the same guys from the earlier shooting. They had the red and black masks. They also had guns! One had that strange red and black aura that Adrian had seen before. Adrian then located the captain on a chair leaning off of the ledge of the roof! “Hey guys we can work something out right?” Adrian said nervously.

Then almost simultaneously they all shot at Adrian. Adrian dodged the bullets tackling guys. He slid through the legs of one man and kicked him in the back! “And then there were four,” Adrian said through pants. Three of the guys started to get that aura around their fists and circled around him. 

Adrian lunged at one of the guys, but the man easily sidestepped him and slammed his fist into his back sending Adrian down through the roof four stories! Adrian had smashed a hole leading up to the roof. Adrian pushed himself up out of the rubble and debris, and said, “Garret did you see that?” “Yep, you got to get out of there!” “But what about the captain?” “I don’t know? But I do know that if you take a few more hits like that your suit will break along with you!” “Okay. I’ll keep that in mind,” Adrian jumped all the way up to the roof and ran for the man holding the captain! Adrian grabbed the captain and the man and flew off the roof! They started to fall fast. Adrian tried to loosen the captain’s bands, but the masked man punched Adrian in the face. Then Adrian and the masked man had a fight in the air. Adrian hit the guy in the gut. But that left Adrian’s face open!The man with the face then punched Adrian in the noggin. Adrian saw a building that he could get to so they wouldn’t die. Adrian grabbed the captain, and activated the small thruster that he had. 

The man with the mask grabbed onto Adrian’s foot dragging them down! They crashed into the roof of the building, skidding across it! Adrian slowly got up to the man with the mask and pinned him so he couldn’t escape. Adrian tore the mask off, and sure enough there were bite marks on his cheek. The man was still alive and started to speak in a raspy voice,”No matter what you do little hero you cannot prevent the Draculation! Everything you love will be gone, and it will belong to Dracula!” Then the man died.

Adrian was confused and mad at the same time. Adrian slammed a ball of electricity into the man making his body vibrate. 

Adrian then walked over to the captain and freed him. “Thankyou Shockwave,” The captain said in a gruff voice. Whenever Adrian spoke in his suit it got distorted, “Your welcome cap have a good rest of your day.” Then Adrian ran off.
