Shockwave Chapter Six

That night Adrian had another dream about a vampire sucking the blood of humans. He woke up with a start. 

He put on his clothes and headed downstairs. It was the weekend so Adrian decided to eat some Reese’s Puffs. He then turned on the television and saw yesterday’s news. The captain talked about being kidnapped and getting saved by Shockwave. “Captain,”the news reporter asked, “what should we do about these people who have appeared twice causing mayhem?” “Well, trust the police and trust Shockwave,” “Well there you have it folks. Stay on the lookout for the masks!”  Then there were some funny cartoons. Adrian finished his cereal and hopped on the couch. He didn’t want to get out of the house at all today. His mom had a work shift until noon so Adrian was home alone until then. Surprisingly Adrian was left alone with no crime, no school, just no nothing. That was up until noon. His mom came in the front door with a, “Hey honey,” “Hey mom,” Adrian replied. His mom came into the living room and gasped when she saw Adrian on the couch. “Adrian, you are a mess. Go clean yourself up before our house gets infested with rats,” So Adrian went upstairs and hit the shower. Then when he came downstairs something worse happened. “Adrian come take a look at this, “ His mom was holding what looked like his report card. Adrian scanned the report card. He had an A in math. An A- in science. A B+ in social studies, and oh no, he had a D+ in Elar! “Now what’s this all about young man? You had good grades until about three weeks ago. I’ve already called your teacher and she says she’ll let you do a make-up test on Monday,” “Ughhh, “Adrian groaned. “Hey you brought this on yourself. Now help me with the groceries, “. 

The rest of the weekend was chill. He stayed home all day Saturday. Then on Sunday he went to church. Then on Sunday he went to bed, and thankfully there were no nightmares. 

Finally Monday Morning came. Adrian got out of bed and went to the bathroom and when he looked up in the mirror he saw a big vampire! As soon as he saw it the image was gone. 

Adrian thought he was just seeing things. He cleaned himself up, ate breakfast,  and hopped in the car. They drove to pick Garret up, and when Adrian walked up to knock on the door, which was answered by Tami!

He and Tami had an awkward conversation about Adrian’s muscles, and that Tami had named each of them before Garret came down stairs. 

Then the two boys got driven to school, and went to class.  In the passing from 5th to 6th period Adrian saw Ruby passing by.  He decided to apologize to her about the other night.

 “Hey Ruby, I’m so sorry that I all of the sudden left our date. It was an emergency,””It’s ok,  everybody has emergencies sometimes,” Ruby kindly replied. Adrian was about to speak again when a voice rose above his. “Mr. Gold! Come now you don’t want to miss your chance for your make up test,” Adrian’s Elar teacher said. As Adrian walked away from Ruby heard some of her friends snicker. 

He looked by to see if Ruby was still there, but she was gone. 

Adrian was so bored. He hated tests, especially Elar. Why? Well that is because it takes so long to read the passages. 

He was on question 26 of a 42 question test. 

 Adrian answered his question as D “A synonym”. His next question though threw him off. There was no passage at all, not even a question. Just a simple message. “ Meet me at 85th Sparkenshot alley in 10 minutes, or else the whole block goes boom!” Adrian was stunned. It didn’t say who it was from either.  

Adrian had some many questions like how did this thing get on the test? Is the block going to actually blow up if I’m not there in 10 minutes? How do I get to the alley if I’m in the middle of a test?

Then he realized the scariest thought of all. If the person who sent this message to him had a bomb they knew that  a normal teenager couldn’t stop it, the person who sent it knew Adrian was Shockwave! 

Secret identity and all that stuff set aside Adrian realized he had to get to that alley. 

Adrian’s screen started to go staticky. Then the fire alarm started to go off! Whoever has that bomb has planned the attack. They have hacked into Adrian’s computer and now the school. Adrian realized that this was his chance to get to the alley. So he walked out of the classroom in a line like they are supposed to do during a fire alarm, and then he slipped through the crowd and out of the school. Then Adrian took out his glasses, pressed the button and ran!!
